Biokinetics / Strength Conditioning
Our Biokinetics and Physiotherapists develop the Exercise Programs together. There is a strong focus on Strength and Conditioning within the 3 Dimensional Movement Model.
BIOKINETICS:
The Biokineticist has a University degree in the science of movement and therefor is at the heart of what Balance is all about. They are a natural partner to Physiotherapists and by working closely together can create a synergy of treatment between movement based exercises and body awareness. The Biokineticists take great care in understanding injury and pathology and design a unique exercise programme for each patient’s individual needs. Strength is often a missing component and improving strength within muscle groups has a long lasting effect on all functions. Biokineticists at Balance have a special interest in strength and conditioning which will ensure that if the patient lacks strength, a safe effective programme can be designed to get you stronger.
STRENGTH COACHING:
The benefits of strength training in all aspects of health is increasingly understood. It not only supports your cardiovascular training but also your mental and metabolical health.
For many stepping into a good well rounded and “balanced” strength programme might be difficult and can sometimes lead to old or new pain patterns surfacing.
This is why working with one of our Strength and Conditioning Coaches provides you with peace of mind. Training with our coach indirectly gives you access to the full health care team. As a team based practice we discuss clients symptoms and niggles in regular meetings and together brain storm solutions and treatment goals.
The saying goes: “if we don’t use it we lose it”.
In numbers, this means past the age of 30 we can loose up to 1% bone density and/or 3-5 % of muscle mass every year if not exercising effectively. This has a dramatic effect on how comfortable we are when getting older.
At The Balance Group we believe in a well rounded “balanced” approached to exercise in placing focus on the 3 pillars - mobility, stability and strength.
